CHUDLEIGH UGBROOKE SX 87 NE 4/163 Orangery at Ugbrooke
GV II
Orangery. Probably early C19. Stone rubble and brick with a tiled roof, hipped at ends. Rectangular on plan with a central entrance. The building is stone rubble except for the section of walling around the windows and doors, suggesting that it may be an adaptation of an earlier building. Single-storey. 5 bay symmetrical front with a central C20 2-leaf front door below the original round headed fanlight with intersecting glazing bars. 2 tall sash windows to the left and 2 to the right have rounded heads and intersecting glazing bars. Brick voussoirs to all 4 openings, some glazing missing from the windows. Plain interior. An attractive garden building, group value with Ugbrooke Park.
