SX 86 NE COFFINSWELL BLACKENWAY LANE 3/86 Rock Cottage - GV II Cottage. C18. Rendered cob walls. Hipped thatched roof. Rendered, probably brick, gable end stacks. Double depth plan with off-centre entrance hall and smaller rooms to its right. 2 principal rooms at the front heated by gable end stacks, smaller service rooms at rear. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3 window front of probably early C20 2-light casements on first floor with glazing bars. 2-light C20 casements on ground floor without glazing bars. C20 stable type door to right of centre under thatched porch hood supported on timber posts at the front. Interior inaccessible at time of survey but front rooms seen to have insubstantial ceiling beams and right-hand room has open fireplace with plain wooden lintel.
