2 houses, formerly a farmhouse. Possibly C17 core, but remodelled in the C18, with C19 and C20 alterations and extensions. Brick, on a Heavitree stone plinth; hipped slate roof. Originally perhaps a 3-room, through-passage plan house, the higher end to the left of the passage, completely remodelled in 2 C18 builds, the former hall and service end early C18, the inner room (with cellar) late C18, with a C19 leanto to the right, and C20 pantiled leanto at the rear. Service end heated by rear external lateral stack; hall heated by an axial stack at the higher end, but not heating the inner room which is served by an external end stack; stacks of Heavitree stone with brick shafts. 2 storeys. Front: regular 4-window range; late C20 casement windows to first floor; 3 casement windows to ground floor (under window arches) one of which is C19, and of 3 lights. 2 doorways, that to the right (under a leanto porch) forming the entrance to the through passage. Door frame with mason's mitres. The early C18 build extends one window bay to either side of this doorway, with burnt headers forming a chequerboard pattern; the later C18 brickwork to the left is in undecorated Flemish bond. Left-hand end with one C19 casement window to ground floor, and two C20 windows above. Interior not inspected; Dr Alcock noted a stud and panel partition to the higher end side of the passage, with mason's mitres and stops; right-hand room with a ceiling beam, chamfered for part of its length, and stopped.
