GV II
House. Probably C18, remodelled in the early C19. Colourwashed and stuccoed, probably stone ; slate roof, gabled at ends behind parapet ; end stacks and axial stacks. Plan: Not inspected internally, plan details not clear at time of survey. Single depth range, 3 rooms wide with an entrance to right of centre facing the stair. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4 bay front with regular fenestration and rusticated quoins. Lean-to porch to front door in first bay from the right, 2-leaf front door with panelled reveals, C19 half-glazed inner door with margin glazing. C19 and C20 4-pane plate glass sashes except for a first floor French window to the left leading on to a balcony on iron columns with a trellis balustrade and hipped roof on timber posts, the balcony overlooking the Exe estuary. Interior: Not inspected but may retain features of interest. Group value with Southbrook Lodge and Southbrook.
