Small house. Circa mid C17, 1980s rear addition. Whitewashed rendered cob on stone rubble footings ; thatched roof, hipped at right end, hipped at left end and carried down as a catslide over the left end outshut. Rear addition with concrete tile roof; massive projecting stack on front with rendered and brick shaft; smaller, later, left end stack. Plan: An unusually small C17 house for the region, a single depth range with a heated room to the right of a passage entrance containing the stair and a small service outshut to the left, probably originally unheated. C20 single-storey rear addition forms overall L plan. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front with a thatched porch on posts and plank front door to left of centre into a passage. Late C20 2-light timber casements with glazing bars. The rear elevation has 1 ground floor 3-light C17 chamfered mullioned window lighting the main room. Interior: Chamfered scroll-stopped crossbeam to main room, fireplace blocked but probably retains original lintel and jambs. Roof: Apex not-inspected but an exposed timber on the ground floor may be the foot of a cruck truss. An attractive and unusually small C17 house.
