Details
ASHTON HIGHER ASHTON SX 88 SE 6/18 Former Wheelwright's shop south east of Beggars Roost GV II Workshop, formerly wheelwright's shop. Probably C18 or early C19. Cob and stone rubble with steeply-pitched corrugated iron roof, hipped at ends (formerly thatched). Plan: Rectangular on plan with an entrance on the west (left) end. Exterior: Single storey. The left end hasa large timber door to the right and a large window glazed with lapped glass to the left. Single window on right return, facing the road; corrugated iron ventilator on roof. Interior: not inspected. Forms a group with Pitman's Cottage and Beggars Roost.
