Details
ALL SAINTS ROAD 1. 1633 (South Side) Audley SY 1287 1/5 ll.ll.70 II* 2. Circa 1810. Built as "cottage ornee" and originally thatched (viz old print in house). Altered circa 1830. 2 storeys roughcast, West entrance front flanked by Doric pilasters. Thin cornice band end parapet with coping concealing low pitch hipped slate roof. The central 3 bays on 1st floor project, supported by 4 Greek Doric columns forming a portico, pilasters to wall at each end. 3 windows to centre and 1 each side, those to right hand blind, the 1st floor to left converted to French window. Other windows recessed sashes, glazing bars intact. The ground floor behind portico has 2 doors of 2 flush panels each with large marginal glazed light set in architrave frames. Between them a round headed sash with marginal glazing. A similar sash window has been inserted in the right hand flanking pilaster on this front. The south garden front has 3 French windows, with marginal glazing, to both floors. Very fine iron balcony of diamond pattern with lead stars. The tent roof canopy with fretted eaves is carried on open work iron supports in 3 stages. The centre projects slightly with a peaked roof and another pair of columns supporting it to the front. This balcony is carried by tall thin iron columns with Doric caps. The interior has a good staircase with continuous mahoganny rail.
