SX 99 NE BROADCLYST 5/1 Ballamount -
11.11.52 II Cottage. Late C17. Cob, stone plinth, rendered, under thatched roof, gabled-end to right, catslide to left over C20 extension. 2 storeys. Front: 3 window range with large external lateral stack, brick above, with side bake-oven bulge. Slate-roofed porch to extreme left-hand side. Three 2-light windows at ground floor; upper windows, all 2-light under boarded eyebrow eaves. Buttressing. A right-hand end stack with C20 round rubble shaft. Rear continuous outshut under catslide roof. All rear casement windows timber, C20, including dormers set deeply in thatch under eyebrow eaves. Interior: reorganised. 2 screens, one probably in situ dividing lower rooms, the other removed to back onto stairs; both plank and muntin; front fireplace with chamfered timber lintel. (Interior not fully inspected).
