SY 29 SW COLYTON SOUTHLEIGH ROAD 13/240 Higher Wadden Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Circa C16/17. Rendered stone. Corrugted iron roof with hipped and gabled ends. Two storeys. Main range has three casement windows to front and a circa C17 gabled wing at right angles to right (south-east) with three light ovolo moulded stone mullion window with dripmould and chamfers. Tudor arched doorway to east now enclosed by another gabled wing on this side. The front has two ramped buttresses and modern glazed porch in the angle. Brick chimney stacks on rear wall and on gable end of wing. Interior: Moulded stone arched chimneypiece in west end with carved spandrels. Central room has fireplace with massive moulded bressummer to chimney on rear wall. South-east wing has very high ceiling with stopped chamfer beam and timber bressummer to large fireplace.
