5/21 Laddin Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse. Probably late C17 to early C18 with early to mid-C19 alterations. Timber-framed with brick extension and infill panels, tiled roof and end stacks. Rectangular plan aligned north-north-west/south-south-east. Two storeys and attic. Two windows. West elevation: ground floor has two juxtaposed 9-pane early C19 casements to left of entry and to its right a similar casement under a segmental head; first floor has another 9-pane segmentally-headed casement to the right and a 12-pane late C19 casement to the left; entry to right of centre behind glazed early C20 gabled porch; frame: exposed only to centre and left is of small square panelling, two panels up to first floor level with four more panels up to wall-plate. East (approach) elevation has large catslide timber-framed extension which doubles the effective width of the building (RCHM, Vol II, p 127).
