Details

BROUGHTON EAST FIELD BROUGHTON SD 38 SE 2/16 Hampsfield Hall 18.5.53 II Farmhouse. Said to have spice cupboard door dated 1687, but possibly earlier; later alterations and additions. Roughcast stone with slate roof. 2 storeys with attic, 2 bays, the 1st projecting under gable. Ground floor has 4-light double-chamfered-mullioned window with intermediate bars and dripstone to 1st bay; 2nd bay has small-paned top-hung casement window and small square blocked window with label mould. 1st floor has sashed windows with glazing bars, that to 1st bay under lintel of original 4-light single-chamfered-mullioned window with label mould. Attic has 3-light single-chamfered-mullioned window with label mould. 1st bay has gabled porch with small-paned window and return entrance; 2nd bay has entrance with chamfered reveals. Gable-end stack with round shaft. Left return has lean-to outshut with large projecting lateral stack with set offs and round shaft; light to right return has 3 intermediate bars. 1st floor has 4-light single-chamfered-mullioned window and sashed window. Right return has blocked lights and 2 entrances, one wide boarded. Rear has outbuilding under catslide roof to 1st bay, other 2 bays gabled. 3 single-chamfered-mullioned windows of 2 lights and some casements.
