Details
UPTON BISHOP CP - SO 62 NE 5/87 Woodhouse Farmhouse 18.5.53 GV II Farmhouse. Possibly C15 core extensively remodelled during C17 and C18; C20 alterations. Part timber-framed on sandstone rubble plinth and refacing of sandstone rubble to later additions, C20 tiled roof, part hipped. Three- bay hall aligned north-east/south-west with south-east side facing fold yard, cross-wings to both ends, further minor later additions to north-east cross- wing. Main axial stack and further stack at junction with south-west cross- wing. Entrances to right of hall range and to south-west gable end. Two storeys with cellar. South-east front: 3-light casement window to gable end of cross-wing to left, 2-light window to left of elliptical headed door on ground floor, three 2-light casements to hall range. Right of centre doorway with penticed porch and ledged door. Gable of right cross-wing removed and now hipped. One 2-light casement window, further similar window and doorway in later addition to right. Interior: altered but retains two cruck trusses of former hall range.
