4/109 Barn and attached stables about 30 yards south-east of Sutton Court -

GV II

Barn and stables. Probably C18. Two parts. Barn: timber-framed with brick infill and weatherboards on sandstone coursed rubble plinth, stone south gable and plain tiled and corrugated asbestos roof hipped to north at junction with stables. Five bays aligned roughly north-west/south-east. West elevation has full-height entry to second bay from south and weatherboarding. East elevation, partly masked by mid-C20 shelter (not included) has full-height entry to left of brick nogging. Frame: regular square panels, three high from cill to wall-plate. Interior: raking strut trusses from ties to principals. Stables: attached to north-west end are part brick and part timber-framed with brick infill and large garage doors to north elevation. Together the barn and stables complete, with the attached barn to the east (qv), an interesting farm complex.
