Farmhouse. Early and late C18. Roughcast rubble, hipped slate roof, gable-end stacks with brick shafts. Two storeys with attic lit by large lunette in pediment. Three 12-pane sashes on first floor; ground floor has 2 segmental bay windows each with three 12-pane sashes flanking a central entrance; flat canopy supported on slender wooden Doric columns, moulded cornice; plain fanlight over 4-panelled door. Interior: there is an early C18 back staircase to the right of the building. In this part of the house there is evidence of an earlier building, for example in the arrangement of the ceiling beams in the first floor front room. This ceil- ing cuts across the sash window of the front elevation, and makes 3 storeys in this portion. The main staircase has stick balusters and moulded handrail.
