5/92 Church Cottage
GV II
House. Probably late C17 or early C18, extended and altered in early C20. Sandstone rubble, timber-frame with brick infill, rendered brick, Welsh slate roofs, sandstone rubble right side stack to projecting wing with brick shaft, brick end stack to main range. L-plan with main range aligned north/south and projecting wing facing west at the north end. Two storeys. West elevation has 2:2 windows, 2-light early C20 casements, steel to gable front and wooden to main range. Gabled porch covers entry to left hand side, in gable front. Rear, east elevation, to church- yard of Church of St Weonard (qv) has irregular square timber-framing, two panels high from plinth to wall-plate. Forms an important enclosing feature to the churchyard (RCHM Vol I, p 232).
