Details
BARTESTREE CP BARTESTREE SO 54 SE 2/4 Bartestree Court II Farmhouse. C17 with mid-C19 alterations and additions. Timber-framed with painted brick infill, sandstone plinth, part enclosed by mid-C19 brick remodelling, mainly brick stacks with one lateral sandstone stack to former north wing. Former L-plan house obscured by later remodelling now basically aligned north/south facing east. Central entrance, two main axial stacks and further stack to north wing. East front, central section of two storeys projects forward with three-gabled divisions,(gable end of former cross-wing of earlier L-plan house to right), three 3-light casement windows, central gabled porch with half-glazed door; central, part of two storeys flanked by outer ranges of single storey with attic, one gabled half-dormer with similar 3-light window to each. Framing: fairly complete and revealed in gable end arid north side of north wing and to west front, formerly four square panels from sill to wall-plate.
