House, now 5 houses. C16, brick front, rear extension, and divisions
early C19. Timber frame roughcast, with exposed timbers in S and rear
gables, and plum brick front patterned with vertical stripes and window
surrounds in gault brick. Stone, haunched lintels with raised keystones
to ground floor. No. 81 now has painted front. Steep old red tile roofs.
A long 2 storeys building facing S with short gabled rear wings at each
end and later parallel-roofed rear extension between them. 4 single
fronted houses a:b:a:b with double fronted house at W. Wide eaves soffit.
Sash windows with 4/8 panes to 1st floor and 8/8 to ground floor. Clasped
purlin roof with diminished principals, collar, and rectangular framing.
Interior has jowled posts and curved braces to tie-beams. Old chimneys at
W gable of No. 81 and between No. 73 and No. 75. Wattle and daub infill
panels in roof, and sooted rafters noted over W end. (KLLHMS report 1977
in NMR).
