LITTLE GADDESDEN HUDNALL COMMON TL 01 SW (West side) 2/183 Hudnall Farm -

GV II

Farmhouse, now a private house. C16, brick cased and extended W in C19, rear wing C20. Timber framed E part red brick cased on S and E end, red tilehung on 1st floor on N over half timbered ground floor with white plastered panels. Old red tile steep roof. N extension machine red tile roof and tilehung 1st floor over white painted brick ground floor. A 2-bay 2-storey timber framed structure probably originally extending to E. Now E part of main range of a T-shaped house facing S with entrance now in NE angle. Flush 2-light casement windows. Interior has heavy flat joists and heavy chamfered axial beam in E bay with entrance and stair in W side of wider bay to W of first with bar stops to axial beam and chamfered and stopped joists. Fine cambered tie-beams of E end truss and open truss. Large chimney C17 or earlier in W bay against E side of open truss. Side-purlin queen-strut roof.
