GV II

House, now two houses. Late C15, refronted and extended late C18, with some late C20 alterations. Timber-frame clad in brick with machine tile roof. Three framed bays, with stack inserted in bay to right of centre with added brick bay to right; no 39 is the right-hand bay and the addition, the other two bays are no 38. Two storeys, gabled dormer to right, three 2-light casements with gablets above, a 3-light casement to right; ground floor: five windows, lancet to left, two semi-circular headed casements, timber cross-windows under segmental head, 3-light casement under segmental head to right; entrance to no 38 at left-hand corner has a C20 stable door; two entrances to no 39, one to right of semi- circular headed casements is approached by two stone steps, with segmental head and ledged and boarded door; other entrance to right corner has a stable door under segmental head. Framing: visible in right-hand gable has two struts to collar, with clasped purlins, curved wind-braces visible internally; wall framing in rear wall is exposed.
