(Northwest side) Maple Cross 8/141 Building immediately NW of Woodoaks Farm House

II

Former small house or part of a larger farm house, now a storage building. C16 or early C17. Timber frame. Red brick casing, some weatherboarding. Tiled roof. 2 bay open hall probably once longer. Entrance front facing C19 house (not listed) is rebuilt with C20 timbers and brick nogging. Right gable end to yard has large C17 external stack with offsets, truncated. Entrance with a segmental head towards front. Left gable end weatherboarded. To rear a continuous outshut under a catslide roof. Interior: arched braces to tie beams, queen struts to collars clasping purlins. Curved braces in walling. 2 curved windbraces. Timber lintel over large open fireplace.
