Gates, lodges, wall and service gates. 1893-4 by Sir Ernest
George and Yates. Gates on right are in elaborate wrought iron
work. Central double gates, single side gates in screens. Large
overthrows. Grotesque and acanthus ornament. Stone gate piers
with banded Ionic pilasters. Scrolled ball finials. Large
octagonal lodge on left in diapered red brick with stone
dressings. 2 storeys. 2 and 3 light mullioned windows with
arched lights. Plain tile pyramid roof with central stack. Wall
on left has miniature gablets at intervals. Plainer gate lodge
further left with 2 gabled-ended roofs and 3-light windows. The
group terminates in the service gates, which are wooden. Brick
gate piers banded in stone, and stone ball finials.
