GV II

Garden temple. Mid-late C18, presumably by James Paine. Painted brick and stucco, slate roofs. Single storey. Square -core, canted N and S projections and square pedimented E entrance with segmental arch opening. Dentilled brick eaves. Elliptical porch has niches either side of C19 half glazed door. Interior has apsidal ends N and S with half domes over. Niches all round and marble-topped tables below these. Adam style plastered ceiling with central skylight and plaster medallions. Marble basin in rear central niche. Said to have been used for taking syllabub.
