TL 01 SW NETTLEDEN WITH NETTLEDEN POTTEN END (North side)

3/215 No. 7/8 30.11.66 (Formerly listed as No 7/8 (Corner Cottage)) GV II

House. C16 former open-hall house, contemporary jettied crosswing, early C19 lower E end. Timber frames infilled with painted red brick. Painted brick as casing to ground floor of W range and for E end. Steep old red tile roofs. A long 2-storeys building facing S with single-storey C19 part at E with prominent diagonally-set 3 tall chimneys and 3 chamfered narrow windows with lattice glazing. W range with large projecting chimney at W gable and band above windows of ground floor comprises a former 2-bays open hall with unheated service room and chamber over. Broad chamfered axial beam carries inserted floor. Irregular fenestration with flush small-pane Yorkshire sliding casements. One-bay block adjoining on E jettied to S but formerly jettied to N also but underbuilt. One similar window to each floor, ground floor window extended by width of former doorway on W. Heavy jowled posts. Clasped-purlin roofs. Square framing to walls. (RCHM Typescript).
