Blacksmith's house and adjoining Smithy, now one office. Smithy
C18, house early/mid C19. Smithy has timber frame with dark
weatherboarding and steep red tiled roof with bands of scalloped
tiles. Single-storey, L-plan building with roof hipped at NW
corner and red brickwork of hearth showing in front (W) wall and
short chimney over. 3 small kite-shaped ridge rooflights. House
has 2-storeys, 2 windows, near-symmetrical front and internal
gable chimneys at each end. A 2-cell house facing W with 4-panel
door into LH room and stair at rear. Recessed sash windows with
8/8 panes. Focal group in views looking E in centre of
conservation area. House included for group value.
