TQ 0400 SARRATT THE GREEN (Southwest side) Sarratt 12/303 The Old Cottage GV II

House. Late C16 or C17, part cased early to mid C19, extended and altered C20. Timber frame with red brick nogging. Part refronted in stock brick. Tiled roof. 2 bays. 1 storey and attic. Entrance in right bay with hood and C20 2 light casement to right. Exposed framing, posts, mid rail and studs. Left bay has a C20 3 light casement in stock brick. Two C20 2 light dormers. Right gable end exposed cambered tie beam and queen struts. C17 external stack with flint base and offsets, flanking oven lean-tos. Exposed studs to rear. C20 dormers. Entrance in 1 storey C20 rear addition. Interior: stop chamfered binding beams and fireplace lintel. Braced wall plates and tie beams to clasped purlin roof.
