TL 00 SW SARRATT PLOUGH LANE (Northeast side) Commonwood 2/321 Spring Cottage

House. C16 or early C17, rebuilt late C18 or early C19. Originally timber framed, rebuilt in flint and brick. Whitewashed and rendered. Tiled roof. 2 bays. 1 storey and attic. 2 ground floor 2 light timber casements in brick surrounds, 2 light gabled half dormers, sprocket eaves. Right gable end has entrance towards front, plank door with a cambered head, 1 casement, external stack with a fixed casement in side to front, tiled offsets to free standing shaft. Attached to left is slightly lower 3 bay barn converted to form part of dwelling, weatherboarded timber frame. Gabled midstrey with windows in place of doors, 2 light timber casement to right, leaded light in top half of stable door to left. Rear elevation of house is red brick with inserted casements. 2 stacks to rear of barn.
