Details
BELL STREET 1. 5253 (South Side) No 24 TL 4827 1484:3/32 II GV 2. Circa 1700. Timberframed plastered house with steep old tile roof, slate eaves courses and broad coved cornice under eaves. 2 storeys. 2 windows. Double plank doors to carriageway through to yard. C19 pilastered shopfront with entablature and panelled stall riser to W of double doors. Flush sash windows with 6/6 panes. W gable rises above adjoining roof and has horizontal shiplap boarding, narrow verge boards and a round headed feature with planted keystone under the apex of the roof. The house appears to share its chimney with No 26 next door to the E and the rear roof slopes of the two houses are continuous. They probably were originally one building. Rear extensions.
