No 56 (The Bull Hotel)
II
Late C18 or early C19 front in gault brick, ground floor channelled. Tiled roof with eaves cornice. Two storeys. Six windows, sashes with glazing bars under cutter flat arches except two windows on left of ground floor altered to lattice casements. Left central six-panel two-fold door in architrave surround in double reveal segmentally arched, outer arch of channelled cutter bricks. Red brick back elevation has central Venetian window. Part of structure reputedly C16. Inn on this site since 1540. Petty Sessions took place here until 1850.
