GV II
Farmhouse, now a private house. C16 open hall house, W wing and floor and chimney inserted in hall late C16; front eaves heightened and house cased in brick in later C18. Timber frame, cased in red brick with some blue bricks. Steep old red tile roof. W wing half hipped at rear, gableted at front. Flatter front slope of hall range due to heightened eaves. An L-shaped 2-storeys house facing S, set back beyond its barn. 4 windows to 1st floor. Flush 2-lights small pane casements with segmental arches. Bow window to left of entrance with panelled recessed door under segmental arch. 2 windows to right. Entrance with cross-passage behind hall fireplace. Stair beyond passage to N of stack. Large internal chimney to W wing with floor carried on one axial beam to S but 2 beams to N. Rear wallplate of hall has an edge halved scarf joint and mortices for a 6-lights diamond mullioned window in W bay. Elaborate moulded beam carries hall floor with 2 steps, ogee, and large roll central below. Fireplace lintel moulded with hollows and roll.
