4/59 Bridle Ways and wall 14.1.77 extending to E (formerly listed as Stables at Hill End)

GV II Generator house, converted to a house, and adjoining wall. Circa 1911 by E.L. Lutyens for Mrs. Fenwick as part of scheme at Hill End (now Langley End), converted to house in 1970s and 1980s. Dark red brick in English-bond with light red dressings and steep pitched half-hipped handmade tile roof. A 1½-storeys building set in a dip across the lane from the former service wing of the former Hill End (now Langley End House, etc.), facing W. High brick wall with narrow tiled roof links SE corner of building to barn to E and has a heavy panelled door set in a recessed round-arched gateway with splayed reveals, segmental outer arch, and tiled spandrels. Added dormers and polygonal S bay. Included for group value.
