WESTON DAMASK GREEN ROAD TL 2529 (East side)

14/90 The Cottage - GV II

House. Early C18, red brick front 1839, N bay demolished, thatched roof changed to tile in 1930. Timber frame on plastered sill, roughcast. Red brick with some blue bricks to front. Steep red tile roof. Slated rear lean-to extension. A 2-storeys house set back a little from roadside, facing W. Front has symmetrical arrangement with 2 windows to each floor and plank door in middle. 2-lights flush casement windows. Door leads directly into larger ground floor room with axial beam, large open fireplace in S gable chimney offset to rear with winding stair rising in SW corner of house by fireplace. Door on LH of entrance into unheated parlour. In same family since bought from the manor in 1839.
