House. Late C17, extended and altered in C19. Timber frame, extended in
brick. Rendered and colourwashed. Steeply pitched thatched roof with
slate on addition. 1 cell, 2 storeys with original lean-to outshut to
rear. Entrance to left, recessed plank door. To right is a 2 storey C19
canted oriel window, 1:3:1 lights on shaped brackets. Left return has
C20 2 light casements, exposed front plate. Catslide roof over lean-to
outshut to rear with an entrance and a casement window. Right end
exposed plates, external stack now in C19 lean-to addition, 1 storey, 2
light casement, stack on return, weatherboarded towards rear with a
hipped roof. Interior not inspected. The numbered houses on the High
Street are out of series. No. 5 is not between Nos. 3 and 7 as might be
expected.
