House. C16 or earlier former open hall house, E end and N rear extensions C20. Timber frame on black stuccoed brick sill, roughcast but frame exposed on upper part of crosswing gable. Steep red tile roofs. An L-plan house set well back from road facing S with 1 1/2-storeys hall range and lower 2-storeys E crosswing. 1 1/2-storeys rear extension to crosswing and E side outshut. Entrance in angle of wings. Large C17 external chimney to E side of crosswing. Smaller external W gable chimney to hall range. 3-lights flush casement window to left of plank door under dripboard. A 2-lights casement window to each floor of gable crosswing. This has 2 rooms to each floor and was probably the upper-end of the hall. Clasped purlin roof to hall and wing. Exposed frame in gable of crosswing has jowled posts, tie-beam, and collar supporting purlins. (RCHM Typescript).
