Details
REEDNESS OLDLANE GATE SE 71 NE (west side) 11/41 Stable/granary range approximately 30 metres west of Moorend Farmhouse GV II Stable/granary. Late C18 - early C19 with later C19 extension. Red brick with yellow brick to later extension. Pantile roof. Rectangular on plan; forms west side of fold-yard. East side: 2 storeys, 6 first-floor windows (3 windows to each build), with single-storey 2-window section to south. 2-storey section has 6 round-arched doors: 2 blocked, the others with board doors and wrought-iron strap hinges, and 4 ground-floor casements beneath segmental stretcher arches. 6 breathers at first-floor level to later section to left. Segmental-headed first-floor openings: 3 with wooden slatted ventilation hatches, 3 with casements. Stepped and dentilled brick eaves cornice. Hipped roof. Lower section has 3 round-arched openings, 2 with board doors, and 2 segmental-headed casements with glazing bars to upper sections, roof hipped to left. West side: 2-storey section has segmental-headed door to right, similar blocked opening to left, central external brick staircase to first-floor door flanked by 3 segmental-headed hatches to each side; row of breathers at first-floor level to right. Lower section has segmental and round-headed doors and casement. Included for group value.
