Drinking fountain. Keystone inscribed 1874. For Sir John Astley.
Vermiculated ashlar to piers and jambs of central arch, rock-faced ashlar to
remainder, smooth ashlar dressings. Built into roadside, approximately 5
metres wide and 3 metres high. Central pointed niche with projecting jambs
and keyed arch, containing iron spout and carved ashlar basin and drain.
Pointed arched wall above with moulded coping ramped down to end piers with
corniced caps. In working order.
