SY 19 NE FARWAY CHURCH GREEN

Wish chest tomb approximately 2 3/75 metres south of the tower of - church of St Michael GV II

Chest tomb. Dated 1767 in memory of William Wish. Beerstone ashlar. Chest tomb is rectangular in plan on a moulded plinth under a flat lid with richly moulded edges. On the corners there are clasping fluted pilasters and the sides contain rectangular fielded panels. The panel on the north side is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering and includes some italics. It records the death of William Wish in 1767, his wife Susanne in 1778 and their son William in 1788.
