Farmhouse. Probably C16 and C17, much altered and refronted early C19, with later alterations. Front range stuccoed with rustication to ground floor and scored lines above; rear range of painted stone, brick, and timber-framing, partly pebble-dashed. Plain tile roofs with some old tiles to rear; brick end-stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and cellar. 3-window range with earlier rear range at right angles further extended to rear. Moulded eaves cornice; 1st-floor plat band; chamfered plinth; rusticated quoins; brick-dentilled eaves to return. Replacement casement windows, larger on ground floor, of 4 lights to centre of 1st floor, otherwise 3 lights, all with roughly-moulded channelled voussoirs, keystones and painted sills. Similar head to cellar-opening on left. Central porch with heavy cornice and round-arched doorway leading to doorcase with panelled reveals, 3-pane overlight and 6-panel part-glazed door. Rear: 2 timber-framed and brick gables; unrenewed 6:6:6-pane glazing with opening casement; earlier range, at right angles, has altered roof-pitch. INTERIOR: front range has doorcases and shutters with panelled reveals, 6-panel doors, dado rail, grey marble fireplace, curved brick wall to hall/cellar; earlier range retains chimney and some timber-framing, including former rear wall with window mullions incorporated into extension. HISTORICAL NOTE: this is one of the three early farmhouses of Pershore. It was formerly owned by recusants and in the C18 had links with Joseph Haydn.
