Cottage. Circa 1800 with renovations of the 1980s. Cob on stone rubble footings, colourwashed and rendered, water reed thatched roof gabled at the left, axial stack with brick shaft. One of a pair of cottages which were formerly 3 properties. The left-hand end of No 1 may have been a 1-cell cottage, the right-hand end one half of a 2-cell cottage. The present plan is single depth, 2-rooms wide with a rear lean-to which was probably added for service rooms in the C19. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2-window front, C20 thatched porch canopy on front to left, that eaves slightly eyebrowed over first floor window right. Fenestration of 2-light casements, 6 panes per light. Interior Exposed joists of slender scantling. One of a group of thatched cottages at Gridley Corner.
