ST GILES ST GILES IN THE WOOD SS 53 18 IN THE WOOD 18/245 Morish headstone approximately 35 - metres south-south-west of the tower of the Church of St Giles

GV II

Headstone. Dated 1784 in memory of Prudence Morish. Slate. Upright slab with shaped head standing approximately 500 millimetres high. Each side of the front are carved fluted columns and segmental arch over and at the apex a calligraphic style skull and crossbones. It is inscribed in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering and records the death of Prudence Morish in 1784.
