EXBOURNE SS 50 SE 4/41 St John's Park II

Small house, formerly 2 cottages. Circa late C17 or early C18. Rendered rubble and cob walls. Gable ended thatched roof. 2 gable end rendered rubble stacks, 1 at rignt end, 1 to rear wing. Plan: L-shaped with 2 rooms in front range - larger right-hand room heated. 1-room plan heated rear wing behind left-hand end. Shallow stair projection at rear of main range in angle with wing. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front of late C20 pvc 2-light casements. C20 1-storey flat-roofed addition in front of right-hand side. C20 plank door to left. Rear wing extends behind left-hand end with shallow projection at rear adjoining it. Interior: Right-hand room has wany insubstantial beams. Open fireplace with oven, lintel replaced. Rough wany roof trusses probably C18.
