Details
ROCHESTER ST MARGARET'S STREET TQ 7468 SW 9/230 No 50 with front garden walls and 24.10.50 gatepiers attached GV II House. Early C19 (possibly incorporating some late C17 work). Stone brick; Kent-tile gable-end roofs. End stacks. Originally a single-depth plan, with parallel range added to rear. 2½ storeys. Front: symmetrical 3-window range. Cement rendered parapet; cornice band with brick triglyphs. All sashes hornless in revealed frames, 1st and upper half storey under flat window arches with 12 and 6 panes respectively. Tripartite sash windows flank central doorway: 4:12:4 sashes under segmental arches, with reeded frames and fluted stucco fans. Doorcase with fluted pilasters, frieze and canopy; half-glazed door. Rear with storeyed canted bay, and small storeyed wing with hipped roof and Yorkshire sash. Brick garden wall fronting St Margaret's Street, brick coping ramped to end piers, with square-section gatepiers with stone and stuccoed cap.
