LAMERTON SX 47 NE 3/38 Gate-piers, wall and doorway about - lOm east of Venn House
GV II
Gate-piers, wall and doorway. Early C19, possibly incorporating earlier c. early C17 doorway from original Venn House (qv). Granite piers and doorway, mixed granite and slatestone rubble wall. Pair of square granite piers about 2 metres high wtih shaped tops and large acorn finials, flanking wall swept round left and right about 3 metres long and 1½ metres high, with coping in mixed squared rubble, 2 similar terminal piers completely overgrown with ivy at time of survey (July 1985); wall extended about 75 metres to north west at end has granite doorway with 4-centred arch, roll- moulded, with carved spandrels, pediment and finial, also overgrown with ivy, C19 studded door with strap hinges.
