Berry chest tomb approximately12 metres north-west of Church of St Michael

Chest tomb with area railings. Dated 1828 in memory of Richard and Elizabeth
Berry. Granite ashlar with cast iron area railings. Chest tomb has a chamfered
plinth and a thick soffit-moulded flat lid. Each side contains a rectangular sunken
panel. The inscription, in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, is on the
south-east side. It records the death of husband and wife Richard and Elizabeth
Berry in the same year 1828, and some close relations who died before 1855. It is
fenced by railings set in granite coping stones. Rails have fluted shafts and spear
heads and the corner posts are bulbous with vase caps.
