Details
BURLESCOMBE ST 01 NE 5/7 Fossend Railway Bridge - - II Road bridge over the railway. Circa 1844 by I K Brunel. Built of coursed large blocks of grey-coloured limestone this is a single span fly bridge across a railway cutting. It has a plain segmental arch. There is a plain projecting stringcourse at road level and the parapet above has rounded coping. Each end the parapet walls curve to shallow terminal piers which project externally only. This section of the Bristol and Exeter Railway was opened in 1844.
