GV II
Road bridge over Little Dart River. Probably early C19. Roughly snecked mudstone
with granite dressings. Bridge of 2 uneven spans, a large segmental arch on south-
west (Chawleigh) side and narrower round-headed arch to north-east. Both plain
vaults with outer rings of roughly-finished voussoirs. The main pier is
rectangular in plan projecting only a little from main bridge and battering back
into wall as it rises to plain granite string course at road level. Small
projecting cutwaters rise to about level of arch springing. Rubble parapet with
granite coping weathered slightly on both sides and simple terminals.
