KINGS NYMPTON KINGS NYMPTON SS 61 NE 3/140 Mole Hays GV II Cottage. Late C18 or early C19. Painted roughcast rendered stone rubble and cob. Thatch roof with gable end brick stacks. Plan: 2-room plan, formerly with central passage but left-hand partition removed. Staircase to rear of right-hand room with access at rear of former passage. Left- hand room has bread oven and therefore probably originally the kitchen. Leanto at left-end converted to form part of dwelling in C20. Exterior: 2 storeys. 2-window range. Early C20 3-light and 2-light casements, 3 panes per light above gabled slate roof to porch with C20 2-light window to each side. No rear outshuts. Interior: much altered in C20. Fireplace to left-hand room has rough timber lintel and bread oven. C19 plank door to foot of stairs. Pegged roof trusses with straight principals.
