Details
BURRINGTON SS 61 NW 5/12 - High Hayne Farmhouse II
- II Farmhouse. Probably C17 but earlier fabric may well survive. White-washed rendered stone rubble and cob. Asbestos slate roof, hipped at left end. Tall front lateral hall stack with brick shaft and stone rubble stack at right end. Plan. As interior was inaccessible, a proper assessment of the plan was not possible. The front range appears to conform to a 3-room and through-passage plan, the hall bay built out in line with and to the left of the hall stack projection. Service wing apparently of 2 rooms with axial brick stack extends at right-angles to rear left-hand side. Outshut and probable lean-to stair turret to rear of main range. 2 storeys. 4-window range. C20 fenestration. 2-light casements. 3-light window to hall. C20 lean-to porch to through-passage doorway. C19 fenestration principally intact to rear. Interior: not accessible.
