14/69 Gates and standards at north east entrance to churchyard of 25.9.83 St Michael's Church GV II

Two gates and four standards. Late C19. Cast and wrought iron. Carriage gate flanked by pedestrain gate. 4 plain cylindrical cast iron standards, inscribed 'C Davey and Sons, Bampton,' 3 with finials, carrying gates with curved top rail to low centre and trefoil bracing - verticals in three rows in augmentation - centre section doubled and bottom section tripled. These gates, presumably to exclude stock from the churchyard, are one pair of a set of three still in situ.
