Cottage. Circa 1700. Red brick on stone plinth, the brick laid mostly in Flemish
bond; Bitumen-painted slate roof, gabled at ends; end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: Single depth 2 room plan with a central entrance; the cottage situated to the
south west of Nutcombe Manor (q.v.).
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3 window front with a plank front door to left of
centre with strap hinges and a flat porch canopy carried on timber posts. 3 first
floor 3-light C18 casements with square leaded panes, 2 ground floor casements
probably C20 copies.
Interior: not inspected.
Important to the setting of Nutcombe Manor and an example of early brick construction
in the region.
