CHERITON FITZPAINE CHERITON FITZPAINE SS 80 NE 7/17 - Chest Tomb about 2 metres west of south aisle of Church of St Matthew GV II

Chest tomb. Circa 1836. Limestone. Plain sided tomb with soffit-chamfered flat lid. The lid bears an inscription to Thomas Melhuish (died 1836) and his brother John (died 1839) both of Barnshill (q.v.). On each long end is a less expertly inscribed epithet.
